Look--
I am and will always be a red lippie fan forever!
There is something in
reds that I can't ultimately shake off! So you have to forgive me if I
have to name my blog announcing my fascination with Christmas' fave
color.
However, I will always enjoy playing with different lipsticks because that's one of my happiness in this world. Don't let me wear a foundation or a powder but please allow me to roadtest a lippie, please.
My MAC lipsticks are my most growing collection to date. They are pricey, yes but I think worth the buck.
Let me share my collective MAC lipstick looks you can try this season using the shades: Up the Amp, Love Forever, Positively Dashing and Prolong.
Lastly,
I think we should care less really whether a lippie would suit us or
not. Afterall, you can always opt to change them if you think otherwise.
The idea is simple: Be bold, daring and fun.
Much love and kisses.
Love,
Much love and kisses.
Love,
Today I am going to review one of my beauty buys in my September trip to Seoul.
The Skin Food Applemango Volume Essence Mist is said to give your hair some volume if you have a limp and fine hair just like me. According to my research, the Skin Food Apple Mango Volume Essence Mist delivers moisture to the hair with apple mango extracts, keratin, protein and beta particles styling the hair naturally and giving it full of volume.
Before styling, you are to spray onto the hair from a distance and dry using blow dryer to add volume. Or just brush it you are to dry it naturally.
I just came back from my Beijing trip and I must say the
cold was unforgivable in most days. I've been to Beijing quite few times
in the past, it is the most visited city in my passport to date. I have
the best (and the not-so-good) memories in Beijing only because I had
my heart broken there once (sniff, sniff).
But of course, that's all in the past! I had been healed, moved on and never been better. Well the guy who "broke" my heart even became one of my true friends in this lifetime, I just couldn't believe it.
But of course, that's all in the past! I had been healed, moved on and never been better. Well the guy who "broke" my heart even became one of my true friends in this lifetime, I just couldn't believe it.
Hey loves, I am back from my recent trip! I am recharged,
alive and kicking, needless to say. Just before my trip, I was contacted by
Cath of Viviamo, the company behind the very successful Belle de Jour Power Planners
saying they checked out my blog and that they are happy to send me a complimentary Belle de
Jour Power Planner!
You see, back in 2008, I purchased one of their planners for
around Php 600.00. I used to eye the Starbucks planner a lot just like in the
past, but I realized the Belle de Jour Power Planner was more dedicated to young and empowered women like us! I remembered enjoying scribbling my everyday activities
using the Belle de Jour Power Planner and used some of the coupons before. Then
for some reason, became “kuripot” and decided not to get myself any planners in
the recent years unless someone gifted me with it.
Sometimes I think I am too old to like too cute, colourful
and girly packaging you see from most Korean makeup brands. If I am sixteen and
can afford it, I will probably wear a lot of Japanese and Korean inspired
outfits. I have never been in Japan but I must say that Korean girls are too
cute, almost Barbie doll-like.
So it’s not a secret that despite the fact that I am a full
grown woman, I have this fascination with these thingamajigs! So imagine my
delight when by accident, I saw this new Korean makeup brand at the SuperSale
Bazaar 2013 called Y.E.T (Yes! Enjoy Time). Y.E.T. or Yes! Enjoy Time is a
brand of high-quality Korean cosmetics and skin care line. It is made for the
modern woman - Strong, Confident & FUN!
Early this year, I found David DiMuzio on YouTube and things
were never the same again. First of all, he is a convincing singer, more often
than not with his guitar and mind you, some killer abs (hihi)! David is an
American singer who lived in the Philippines for sometime. He has done some
collaborations with our local singers and appeared in some local TV shows too! Oh not to mention, he sings Filipino songs too!
I remembered tweeting him one day and asked how to buy his
CD. David replied and was told I can buy by sending him the payment through
Paypal. It was April if I remembered it right and he promised to meet me
personally to give the CD. But then he became busy and promised to send me the
CD by October when he is in Manila again recording his album for Star Records.
The good news is that the signed CD(s) came early this month all the way
from HongKong, yay! The top it all, he sent me an extra CD for his upcoming
album. Oh, how brilliant!
Children donates in Haiyan victims
Typhoon Haiyan | When Children Teach Us to Restore Faith in Humanity
Still recovering from the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan, I was moved
to tears when I saw this six-year-old Japanese boy, Shoichi Kondoh donates 5,000 Japanese Yen supposedly from his
own savings. The story was that this boy came to the Philippine embassy in Japan
with her mother and immediately became the youngest donor in Japan.

These days, I’ve been glued on local TV, CNN or BBC getting
as much information about SuperTyphoon Haiyan (local name: Yolanda) and the havoc it
brought to my country, the Philippines. Being typhoon-stricken is not new to me
and my family. You see, I was born and raised in Virac in Catanduanes.
Catanduanes is a small island off the Pacific Ocean where most typhoons brew so
it is usually visited by this catastrophe every now and then.
Hey ladies, meet my very first Urban Decay Naked palette!
So yes, I don’t
own the previous two (2) Urban Decay palettes if I want to be redundant, haha.
I was looking at Donna’s FOTD whom I met last year in the Benetton event, and she mentioned she
finally has the Urban Decay Naked Basics. My heart jumped for about three
minutes or so! This was the same palette I almost bought online many moons ago
but decided not to.
Hey guys! I am so happy it's the weekend! Finally I can catch up on my sleeping!
And finally some outfit post! Taking inspiration from the short, sometimes flirty skirts worn by figure skaters, I have decided to jump into the idea of wearing one. It was meant to be worn during summer when temperatures are less forgiving but since in Manila we get more rains or not, this means I can wear one as much as I want.
I am called "Redlippie" for no reason so today’s review is all about
the MAC Pro Longwear Lip Crème in Prolong. I picked this up in MAC store at Rustan’s
in Makati for Php 1,100. Yeah, MAC is a whole lot cheaper if you buy it in the
US or Canada. Right now, I have about six (6) lippies from MAC which I use
interchangeably. You must also know that I have more reds than pinks or
neutrals.
The MAC Pro Longwear series is my fave amongst their
lipsticks. These lipsticks glide very smoothly, creamy, stay put for hours
(well not over 8 hours in my case) and not that drying as long as you make sure
to get a good lip scrub before putting it on.
I had trouble mastering eyeliners when I started
applying makeup. Of course the hardest for me was how to perfect the brows! I
love well defined brows versus eye shadow application. But since this post is
about eyeliner, then allow me to review the Styli- Style Liquid Liner in
Blackest Black.
Okay, the good thing about this is that I didn’t pay as much
as I should. I picked this up on sale for Php 150.00 at Beauty Bar. Please note
though that not all Beauty Bars are on sale everytime. I think it depends on
which branch you would go. Mine was from the Robinson’s Place in Ermita.
Happy Hump Day everyone!
Over the weekend, I finally decided to "tame" my hair color a little. The issue I had was after a while of being blonde, it somehow became a little brassy. The roots were as if they were terribly dried out and I was starting to be anxious about it.
So KC, my ever reliable stylist of BenchFix Glorietta 4 suggested to color it a shade darker to look healthier than it was. When I got home, my cat didn't seem happy. But the next day, I noticed how it looked better. I was convinced it was the best decision for the weekend.
The problem with dyeing your hair lighter is that it can turn out to be brassy and much more emphasize the brittle and dry ends after some time. I am still a "blonde" technically but just that it looks so much better now than before.
And if you are curious, I made a little video of myself. Forgive me for the crappy video, I will be an expert soon!
Love,
Ah CC (Colour Correcting) creams! They are the next big
thing after the blemish balms (BB).
As Wikipedia puts it, CC cream is reputed to include sun protection,
along with better skincare properties (such as anti-aging, hydration, blemish
prevention etc.) and treatment of uneven skin tones than BB creams.
Some users find it to have a lighter texture than BB cream,
which allows for smoother application with a less oily finish. Coverage can
vary greatly among the different brands, and
are more often than not minimal when compared to BB creams. Some tend to work
better as primers rather than a replacement for foundation.

Oh how brilliant an illuminator is! I realized I must invest into a really good one to achieve that "healthy glow" if you know what I mean.
The NARS Super Orgasm Illuminator was one of my lemmings. The only thing which prevented me was that it is not cheap. It retails for Php 1,750 in Rustan's stores. The Super Orgasm is infused with golden shimmer and a peachy-gold hues that's for sure. It is so versatile that can be applied a blush, mixed it with your favorite foundation, or a higlighter.

Love,
This era has produced many new terms one of which is "Selfie".
First, let's take a look how Wikipedia defines "selfie':
A selfie is a type of self-portrait photograph, typically taken with a hand-held digital camera or camera phone. In August 2013, the term selfie also made its debut in Oxford Dictionaries Online's quarterly update where it is defined as "a photograph that one has taken of oneself, typically one taken with a smartphone or webcam and uploaded to a social media website."[1] Selfies are often associated with social networking and photo sharing services such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and Vine where they are commonly posted or sent. In the Korean entertainment industry the word selca (short for "self camera") is used to describe photos taken of oneself.[2][3] They are often casual, are typically taken either with a camera held at arm's length or in a mirror, and typically include either only the photographer, or the photographer and as many people as can be in focus. Selfies taken that involve multiple people are known as "group selfies".

Oh yes, taking selfie photos is also one of my fave things to do when I can. I like to take photos of me wearing makeup to see how I progress as an aspiring makeup artist. My take on selfie(s) is simple: If you feel confident posting your pic then do it. Afterall, life's too short. Enjoy.
You only live once (YOLO).
PS: This is my entry to the Pinay Curvies Swag October: The #Selfie Challenge.
Love,
I did some casual fun shopping the other day and got these two (2) babies which incidentally I also posted in my Instagram account.
Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Tropical
The first time I sprayed some of this, I fell in love with its subtle, slightly citrus-y fragrance. I had been a Moschino fan for like forever so hopefully this works on me.
Tsubaki Head Spa Shampoo
Tsubaki is a Japanese brand under Shiseido. I really love the shampoo and conditioner in this head spa series. They smell sinfully good and make my dry hair soft and shiny.
Don't you just love unexpected shopping?
Love,
Long before I became fascinated to many things, I was first a shoe addict. In
fact if you read my About Me section, I briefly spoke about my Mom thinking I
can’t eat shoes when I’m starving. Well that is true in real life unless I
decide to become a real “shoe eater”. I still can’t resist buying shoes every
now and then when it suits me.
Then the unexpected thing happened. I suddenly started
adoring nice and pretty bags. I think this was passed on to me by my good friends
Marcy and JB whom I met when I used to work for an international bank. Marcy
owns a number of designer bags and JB too. As for me, except for some Kenneth
Cole, Mango, Esprit, Zara and Nine West bags, I don’t have much experience. I don’t have issues buying from
local designers either as long as:
- Probably a cross body bag is much better
- Fits my makeup kit, sunnies, umbrella (yeah, sue me!), keys, etc.
Hi Guys, I am going away from the usual format of my blog because I'd like to experiment (boring is a serious term). So today, I am going to stay away from the Pros or Cons format to see whether you are all reading what I am going to post here. Let me know how you are taking this (ha!).
Anyhow, today's review is from SKINFOOD. SkinFood is one of the most respected Korean brands. They boast of quality products most of which are made from plant extracts. Think organic (well maybe not in its entirety), but I am sure you know the drill.
Yet another Korean product review, ladies!
Today, I am going
to talk about the very first pressed cream I got from a Korean brand, Missha. I picked up a couple of Missha products in Seoul because they are waaaaay expensive here in sunny Manila than if you buy there. Aside from this product, I also picked up their famous BB cream!
The Missha All-Around
Safe Block Pressed Sun Cream SPF50 / PA+++ is basically a powdered
sunblock. Yup, if you are used to liquid sunblock, then this is something you
might want to check especially if you have oily skin.
The thing about wedge sneakers is that I am NOT sporty at all! While I love running and walking with my sports shoes, I honestly think I cannot rock that sporty vibe fashion all the time!
![]() | ||||||
Top: Bazaar from Seoul | Shorts: Forever21 Inner Top: Terranova | Wedge: From Seoul |
But of course, like anyone else, I can as well try, right?
Here's an outfit I wore on my second day in Seoul visiting Bukchon Village where most traditional Korean houses were built. I bought this sneaker with my Indonesian friend Irwan at Dongdaemun after watching a live dance show at Miglore.
In general, wedge sneakers can be an intimidating look to pull off,
but anyone can do it if you insist. In essence, your bottoms and
tops should create a snug, fitted appearance to balance out the bulk of
the sneakers. Just make sure to balance your ensemble with an accessory of choice which would perhaps compliment your outfit.
Would you dare to rock the wedge sneakers? My answer is yes-- why not!
Love,
If you have traveled in Korea and shopped at any of their makeup stores, there's a million chance that you had been given these masks as a freebie.
Facial masks are so common in the land of K-Pop and they are everywhere. I read somewhere that Korean girls would use these masks just before they go out on a date to keep their skin feeling refreshed and reinvigorated.
During my first trip to Seoul in 2010, I didn't much get the drift on these masks. But the more I use them, I kinda like the feeling. These masks are made of paper soaked in water or essence (well not mainly water, must be something going on besides water). It's wet, you would need to open the mask and place the mask's holes exactly where your eyes, lips and nose sit. You wait for 15-20 minutes then you're done.

Let me go through my final thoughts right away just for a change: I really like this foundation!
Yes, I really do.
Bloom Mineral Plus Liquid Foundation in Medium/ Dark shade blends really well into my skin. I am impressed because my skin absorbs this foundation so easily and turns into a semi matte finish. And no, it doesn't feel like a mask like other foundations. If you have dry skin, you won't need to set it with powder. If have combination to oily skin, yes you might want to set it with your fave powder. This product is yellow based which would suit most Asian skin tones. It also boasts that it has no parabens, no talc, no artificial colourants and no mineral oil.
Happy hump day everyone! I hope you are all doing great this week.
I am back for another Korean product review: the Skinfood Foodtherapy Stick Perfume in Energy Berry and Happy Vanilla. They cost 9,000 Korean won in Seoul.
I am back for another Korean product review: the Skinfood Foodtherapy Stick Perfume in Energy Berry and Happy Vanilla. They cost 9,000 Korean won in Seoul.
The Skinfood Foodtherapy Stick Perfume in Happy Vanilla was suggested by Sheryll of The Wanderlust Project in her blog. I had been a Moschino perfume avid user for the last seven years. I will try other perfumes but then I will always go back to Moschino.
I’m addicted to lip and cheek
tints and most Korean makeup! I have quite a few lip and cheek tints from Tony Moly, Mememe, Etude House and Burt's Bees .
But I have a usually slight problem with them. Most are drying
on my lips. While in Seoul, I picked up this nail-polish looking lip (and
cheek) tint called Nature Republic Botanical Shine Tint in #2. This shade is pink
and shiny as the name implies. I bet there are glitters inside in super tiny
particles.
The price was for about 2,700
Korean won I think. As I rummaged through my receipts, unfortunately they were
all written in Korean so no luck but if my memory serves me right, that should be the
real price. The consistency is of a tint mixed with a lip gloss though not that
usually sticky. In fact, I enjoyed wearing this roaming the streets of Seoul.
The only problem I had was it didn’t stay that long on me. After 3 hours, it
was gone. But I “eat” lipstick most of the time which translates I wet my lips
more often than not.
First of all, this is quite different on how I post something here on my blog. I see photo essays in some blogs I'm subscribed to, but haven't really tried it myself so here is a sample on how I should roll it.
The trip to Nami Island was exciting for me because I was a Korean drama fan back in the days. Well-- I don't get to watch dramas these days the last was a romantic Korean drama called "Lie to Me". I don't need to tell you how many times I've been few minutes late going to work just catching this drama.
Briefly, I talked about my recent Seoul trip which officially ended my Project: No Makeup Buy. I was kinda sad to end it but this trip was a good excuse to splurge a little.
My loot was mainly focused on skin care products because I am so serious about repairing my skin. I think no amount of makeup can cover an ugly skin in the first place. Also, if you have an almost perfect skin, you need very little makeup to jumpstart your day. So ladies, that is the GOAL!!!! Wooooohoooo!
