Ciao Bellas! How was your weekend?
Well I am ehem....reporting from the beach and hoping you all have a great weekend like moi!
Dear Santa,
As you know by now, my name is Miss J and I have been hooked on online shopping. Seriously I had to keep my Visa Card way from me otherwise, my fingers shall do the talking.
Surprise, surprise! Makeup Hub by Naturele Collezione linked me again in their facebook page! That explains the traffic again, yay!
Happy Thursday Bellas!
I love sheer tops or bottoms! They can give you that romantic feeling when wearing them.
I was crazy for BB creams in the past. And I mean crazy. If I tell you how many I've tried, you will just hate me if I start telling you.
When I was on my Seoul searching trip in 2010, I once again scored BB creams however my thoughts in choosing the right products is this: choose the one which works for you and stick to it. Our skin is not a good testing grounds for all products we want simply because it will even cost us more to fix the mess.
I was having my usual "me-time" moment in some mall in sunny Manila yesterday when I chanced upon Aldo's shop.
Ten minutes later, transaction was completed and came out with these in some shopping bag which was discounted.
Photo from Snoe's Facebook page |
Haaaaappppy Monday! Okay- that's just me babbling and convincing myself to like Mondays, lol!
I am once again getting a number of traffic from my posts on Snoe, a local brand which is getting a lot of positive reviews lately. I personally tried some of their products which I blogged here and was very happy couldn't stop telling my friends about it.
Happy Sunday, Bellas! Hope all is well with you guys.
I was trying on my bridesmaid's dress yesterday for my childhood friend who is getting hitched in June. We knew each other since we were in fourth grade, attended same class up until senior high and he is by the way a guy so imagine my surprise when he asked me and our other friend to be bridesmaids. He does for sure how to value true friends like me (naks!).
I'll take a break from writing makeup today so you can now skip this post. But if you are feeling anxious to know me other than my lipsticks, read on!
In my other posts, I mentioned about my cat. He happens to be a persian cat.
Okay- let me spill a secret to all of you. I absolutely loooove "tint(s)". Very highschoolish I know but there is something in cheek tints that I can't let go.
My very first tint was from local brand, Bench Pretty When Pinched. Then I fell in love with Body Shop's tint. My love affair with them even continued as I go along and met others from Etude House, Faceshop, Nature Republic, etc., which I scored in my Seoul trip in 2010.
Ciao Bellas!
Do you know what's in store for you today? Lots of love for mother earth!
MUJI encourages its shoppers to go paperless to minimize waste and support the green initiatives worldwide. And not only that, it also gives discounts to its customers who will participate in this movement!
I first learned about this store during my first Beijing trip in 2008. In gayspeak or gay lingo (aka salitang bakla), "muji" means "mother". Oh well, that's according to my BFF, Marcy:)
Ciao! Happy Friday!
I was browsing through my old pics and found a similar photo of me wearing the same dress that of my 11- year-old niece. It was the same dress that I gave her during her last visit.
And I thought to myself that she must be really really growing up fast because she can now fit into my clothes though not 100%. Yay!

Hello Bellas! And hello summer-- why are you so hot???!??! Lol.
Anyhow, I just would like to do a quick post that I officially had my first out of town trip for this excruciating summer heat!
Welcome to Club Balai Isabel:)
I enjoyed this place sans the brownout, in the morning which woke me up lol. But overall we had fun and hoping to more trips this summer.
Is fashion only for perfect-looking, rich, slender, modelesque people? In this day and age when internet is most accessible, you see a lot of fashion bloggers writing in almost perfect outfits. bodies and pictures. They are starting to look very "dreamy".
So when I stumbled an article about this "normal looking" fashion blogger named Aaron people were raising eyebrows all over. I say normal because he is rocking what the Philippine street fashion is all about that no one dared! I enjoy reading his posts:)
Ciao Bellas!

Inner Top: Bazaar

Ciao Bellas!
This weekend, I also scored some Dorothy Perkins' good buys on sale: flats and belts! And all of them leopard printed!
I love Dorothy Perkins because they carry sizes for different ladies especially for those plus-sized! I mean you can't get the fashion world any better than that IMHO!
Happy Saturday Bellas!
Today was extremely traffic it took us about 1.5 hours to get to QC from Taft Avenue by cab for the baptism of my cousin's super pretty baby. Bummer.
The good news was we made it to the reception and sooo happy to see my relatives whom I haven't seen for sometime. It was indeed a happy event for us.
Anyhow, we soon found ourselves taking the LRT to avoid traffic only to get off at Pedro Gil station to pick up my super love Fino folded wallet at Robinson's Manila which needed repair back then.
Ciao Bellas!
Finally it's Friday! And what a nice way to end the week with a recent makeover with one of my good friends at work.
So ladies-- let me introduce Ros, who wants a look she can try herself on her sister' wedding.
Happy weekend! Thank God it's Friday!
If you can remember, I started my "Create My Look" book which I blogged earlier. The goal is to get inspired creating a look I intend to try as much possible as I can each week.
I may not have copied the look in its entirety but that's still keeping close to the goal of my "Create My Look" book which is to get an inspired look, at least.
Don't you just hate whiners (aka people who complain/ whine all the time)?
I don't hate them. I avoid them, lol.
You see- each one of us has our own struggles and if one can't handle his, this person doesn't even have the slightest right to pass them to anyone. I'd like to think that these kind of people are another version of emotional vampires out to drain us from the start.
Hey Bellas!
Today, I am sooo excited to talk about my new HG eyebrow product. Though this baby is quite pricey, in my opinion, it is worth of your every cent!
Do you struggle with your brows too? Because I think every lady does at one point. I remember that what bothers me the most is to see my brows fading in hot sunny Manila weather! But all that has changed since I met the K Palette Real Lasting Eyebrow, a Japanese brand!
Coure Cosme is the creator of the best selling eyeliner in Japan and they happen to produce the K Palette Real Lasting Eyebrow Tattoo too! I first saw this liner in Singapura last year while transiting to Bali. But the ignorant me, I really thought this was an eyeliner and didn't even pay attention. Now I must pay the price, lol.
First of all, this product does not smudge and is long wearing like a tattoo! But goes off with soap and water.
Me Says:
- Long lasting and smudge proof
- Natural looking brows
- Buildable color and with light strokes you can achieve the intensity you desire
- Perfect for people who are oily to combination skintypes
- Sweat proof
Dislikes:
- Quite pricey for Php 895.00 and may not be affordable to some who are on a budget
My Verdict:
5 Lipsticks!
Sans the hefty pricetag, this is an excellent product especially if you sweat a lot and your makeup melts sooner. Nothing beats a well groomed eyebrow! A lot of makeup artists are using this product especially during weddings or special events.
You can buy this baby at the nearest Beauty Bar in your area.
Ciao!
Love,
Miss J
Ciao Bellas!
If you are asked whether you'd splurge or spend, what would you choose?
I'd say Save of course! I am a bargainista/ frugalista, and why not!
So today, I am going to commence my Splurge or Save series. The idea is to give you ladies out there the choice whether you'd like to spend your hard earned moolah to something worth splurging. Or better yet save and find a dupe (well, maybe not an exact match but almost!).
Okay- let's start!
I am going to tell you about these Benefit products in which IMHO happen to have dupes!
Benefit High Beam & Moon Beam
- Satiny pink liquid highlighter accents cheek & brow bones for a radiant glow. Use as a spot highlighter or delicately blend all over your complexion. Looks perfectly radiant on all skintones. It's the "supermodel in a bottle"!
Benefit Bene Tint
- Original rose-tinted stain is kiss-proof, see-through color for lips & cheeks that lasts for hours. Naturally sheer & sexy on all complexions...it’s innocent yet provocative.
- Originally created for an exotic dancer in the 1970s, Benetint has soared to cult fave status. It's loved by celebs, makeup artists and gals around the world. It's the sexiest flush you can get from a bottle!
SPLURGE Benefit, Php 1500+ (Greenbelt 5) |
Day 1 of "Create My Look" attempt!
Since I can barely draw but obsessing to make my own clothes, I settled for the next big thing-- come up with a look I intend to try each week!
So here's the look I plan to come up this week (oh my fingers crossed!).
It's summer and the best time to raid your closet and put on some prints! If you don't have one, visit Landmark or SM because they got a lot of prints to choose from.
I just hope I don't break my wallet soon. Oh well, oh well!
So super good luck to me!
Love,
Miss J
Ciao, Ciao Bellas! Happy Wednesday! Few more days and it's weekend!
Anyhow, did you notice how humid is it these days, noh? Like- please, please give me a bag of ice soon!
Since orange is the color of summer, I've been thinking why not Yellow too? I mean, it's bright, sunny and happy color for everyone!
I am currently lemming for yellow shoes when I saw this yellow pumps from Schu as featured in their blog!
And of course the list is quite long.
Cole Haan Slingbacks ($375) My thoughts: Sigh (I wish I can afford it, lol) |
Christian Louboutin Lady Peep Slingback Pump ($132.00 on sale) My thoughts: Okay, let me break my "alkansya"! One moment please. |
And from Casadei Summer/ Spring 2012 shoe collection...
Jessica Simpson Colorblock Pump at Victoria's Secret, $98.00 My thoughts: Hmmmm.... Pwede:) |
If you are feeling generous and want to buy me one of these, please, please do!
Love,
Miss J
Hey Bellas! Happy Tuesday for us!
I was at Shinagawa last Sunday for my follow up checkup after undergoing IntraLasik procedure last month.
So far, my review of their IntraLasik procedure is the most popular post I have in this blog. I get too many inquiries and an impressive number of hits in my blog. Thank you all!
Earlier that day, I was with some good people/ friends to celebrate Easter Sunday.
We decided to visit since we were around the area instead of visiting on a Monday.
I'll spare you guys of my post check up details because I don't want to bore you to death hehe. Now the good news is that we might get the biggest surprise of our lives! Stay tuned!
And of course, the mandatory shot must be done!
Love,
Miss J
Ciao Bellas!
Today I am going to post about my thoughts on another NYX product: the NYX MOSAIC POWDER.
This product can be worn as a blusher and or highlighter. I got this product in "Spice" shade even if I was meaning to get the "Rosy" shade since I could not get this shade for a long time now.
Me says:
- Versatile combination of colors which can flatter almost any skin tone for that summer glow
- Inexpensive (php 290.00)
- Packaging is nice and it lists ingredients
- Long lasting when worn under a primer
Dislikes:
- Not available locally; only through resellers
- Does not come with a brush (but does not bother me)
- Might come as little powdery to some but for its price I am okay with it
Overall, I think this is a good product especially this summer. Please don't forget to wear primer under your foundation to keep your makeup in place.
Verdict:
4.5 Lipsticks
TIP: To save on this product, dab your brush very lightly not to get too much product as it can be little powdery, IMHO.
Love,
Miss J
Ciao Bellas! It is still holiday for most Pinoys (but not for me) being today is a Philippine holiday so I just wanna say I am sooooo jealous your vacation is extended for a day!
In other news, I got sooooo excited to know that Baviphat is finally in Manila! I first came to know about this Korean brand during my first visit to Seoul sometime in 2010. Back then. I was in high heavens shopping for this brand in Myeongdong. I purchased their Island Girl's BB Primer Fix and I remembered liking it.
Baviphat is a Benefit style cosmetics minus the hefty price tag. It reminds me soo much of Benefit because their products are packaged in attractive, colorful boxes which will surely bring the most girlie girl spirit in every woman!
I was suprised to see Baviphat next to Snoe's kiosk at Cinderella, Glorietta 3. And of course I wouldn't miss the chance of adoring them for once. I was told they started to sell Baviphat only last March.
I got this Magic Girls Auto Eyebrow for Php 199.00. Will post my thoughts soon!
Baviphat is sold at Cinderella, GF Glorietta 3. You must check them out soon!
Love,
Miss J
