REVISITED | Palladio Natural Rice Dual Wet & Dry Foundation

June 14, 2012

Summer has just ended here in sunny Manila but my fascination with powder foundation has resurrected since then because of extreme humidity. Ah thank God, summer is overrrrr!

One of the things I abhor about my skin condition is that I sweat a lot during summer and feeling sooooo blue because you all do know how much I love makeup and the fact that I just can't put a lot in my face makes me feel oh so depressed hihihi! My sweat glands are probably a lot more active than the average girl so this adds to my frustration too, hehehe.

Anyhow, I've been going back to basics since summer which means, I skip liquid/ cream foundie and use powder foundation instead. As you are aware, the more products I pile on my face, the less successful my makeup adventures become. So let me share to you one of the many powder foundations I've tried so far--- the  Palladio Natural Rice Dual Wet & Dry Foundation.

Product Description:

Made for consumers and makeup artists alike, this top-selling formula can be applied both wet, for maximum, all-day coverage, or dry, for light finishes and touch-ups. Alpha Hydroxy fruit acids help eliminate fine lines, and Zinc Oxide prevents breakouts while our specially designed sponge ensures a flawless application every time.

I've been told this was a close dupe to MAC StudioFix Powder Foundation. Beauty bloggers all over the world seem to agree too. I bought the "Natural Clary" shade for Php 725.00 at the Beauty Bar.

Me Says:
  • Non comedogenic/ Oil free
  • Can be used wet or dry to suit your desired results
  • Coverage is medium to heavy
  • Matte finish and evened my skin tone
  • Not cakey and lasting power is pretty much acceptable (5-6 hours)
  •  It did hide my imperfections and redness (if any)
  • Sturdy packaging
  • The sponge was made of good material
Dislikes:
  • I think Natural Clary leans towards the "pink tone" and though it blends well on my skin, I still prefer my powder to be "beige-y" as I am Asian to suit me a lot more
  • No SPF
  • Not too many shades to choose from
  • Pricey for Php 725
Overall Verdict:

4.00 Lipsticks

I only applied this dry and never tried using it wet as I intend to achieve only medium coverage (don't want to look overly made up). I really like this powder as it did not add up any oil into my already oily/ combination skin. Had I found my super duper exact match, even better. But then again as I've said, the Natural Clary still blends well into my skin. Maybe it's just me babbling about Asians to stick on the "beige zone" never on  "the pink zone" because of my skin tone. But overall, this powder impressed me a lot, never expected it delivers!

Buy Again: Yes, yes! Me------>impressed!

Love,
Miss J
