REVISITED | The Balm Shelter Tinted Moisturizer SPF182:56 PM
Unplanned purchases. That’s what I avoid but for some reason, I could not be 100% successful whenever I get to see any makeup counter. Yay, I seriously need to stop buying cosmetics unless I intend to be penniless soon!
I have always imposed a personal shopping ban of at least six (6) months before I can call myself successful. So far the longest I have not purchased anything aside from those essentials is three (3) months. Major fail:(.
But then one of the things I am truly proud of is if I find something really worth sharing to everyone who follows this blog (naks!).
Okay so by now you should know that I like tinted moisturizers (TM). Well they don’t really give enough coverage but that’s why it’s called TM because they are not supposed to have one. The main idea is to even out skin tone for ladies who abhor wearing too much makeup. Also, it is very convenient rather than piling up too much products in your face, TM is a nice way to put color, even your skin tone, wear SPF, and at the same time, moisturize.
Well, ladies and ladies…. I have found the ONE! Presenting …. The Balm Shelter Tinted Moisturizer SPF18 (Php 975.00 @ the Beauty Bar)!
This is a brand I see in most celebrities’ makeup kits thus I ever wonder whether this is a brand created solely for celebrities, lol! From local to foreign, I always see this brand rated as a fave and not sure if this is just a coincidence or what!
Sun Protection for Everyday Drama
This weightless, silky smooth tinted moisturizer SPF18 offers lasting moisture and helps to improve the tone and texture of your skin, leaving you with a polished complexion.
What it is:
A superior formulation that provides long lasting moisture, BalmShelter Tinted Moisturizer gives you the perfect polished look while leaving your skin feeling silky.
BalmShelter Tinted Moisturizer SPF 18 has Broad Spectrum protection, protects skin from both UVA and UVB rays. BalmShelter Tinted Moisturizer SPF 18 is non-comedogenic and will not clog pores.
- OH EM GEE, it is not sticky!
- Gives me that subtle glow (oh wow!)
- SPF 18 is a plus (though I wish it is more than that!)
- Very moisturizing
- Reduces my makeup time as it is moisturizer, SPF and evens out my skin tone
- I can feel my skin breathing (finally!)
- When worn under a primer it does lasts on me, without a primer this also has respectable staying power
- Evened my skin tone and the Medium shade suits me perfectly
- Matte when applied and does not contribute oil to my face
- A little pricey for a TM (for that price, I could get a decent drug store foundie)
The truth is, I’ve been eyeing the Laura Mercier TM but I don’t think I am going to get it now that I am soooooo happy with this TM.
TIP: Apply powder to set it if you need a longer lasting coverage. Or wear a primer underneath.
Out of Topic: If you are interested to know how I ended up getting this product, here’s what happened:
The Scene @ Beauty Bar in Greenbelt 5:
While at The Balm Cosmetics stall, I could not take my eyes off these beautifully packaged makeup I almost had some palpitations in an instant. I've been seeing them everytime I visit Beauty Bar stores.
Moi: Miss, how much is the tinted moisturizer?
Attendant: It’s Php 975.00 (approx USD 20+), Maam!
Moi: Can I try it? (Then reaching out to one tester.)
After 1 minute…
Moi: Miss, I am on a personal shopping ban everyday but I really want to try this. Can you help me decide?
Surprised I gave her a huge responsibility, she said this in the most polite tone:
Attendant: I personally use this also Maam and yes it is really good.
Moi: Oh I hate you! Okay give me one!
Seconds later, I was giving her my card. Goodbye, close to a thousand pesos. Till we meet again.
Wow, I guess I found the ONE indeed. Finally, I am not going to wear foundation everyday! Yey! I tried this several times on different days and there wasn't even a day that this has ever failed me. Kudos to you, The Balm! I am soo excited to try their other products soon!
