I love perfumes! And in fact, I've been using one perfume since 2008 and I haven't changed it since then.
But once in a while, I like to smell differently than the usual, so I try to use cologne or try another brand to take a breather. Perfumes don't come cheap, let's face it. And so nothing should really stop us from looking for something cheaper and worth our buck.
Back in my struggling early twenty-something corporate slave days, my usual savior is by a brand called Zen Zest.
They sell these body sprays which are fruity and refreshing. I remember buying them for not more than a hundred pesos. Wow, those were the days!
And so, I picked up this neatly packaged bottle called Zen Zest Earth Perfume at the Robinson's Manila during one of my trips there.
One word: AFFORDABLE!

Unforgettable fragrances that defines an intrinsic spirit, specially formulated for the cosmopolitan individual.

When is too many too much? I guess for makeup junkies, this question seems to a tough one to answer. Personally, I had bought products in the past and used them for a while, then later on after switching bags every now and then, they literally disappear from my sight.
Forever. Well, NOT all I guess.
Such was the case of TONY MOLY TONY TINT in Red Apple.
One of the local brands I really really love is Fanny Serrano Cosmetics.
From their powder foundation to their eyelash curler (which is a nice dupe of Shu Uemura), I've had good experiences so far.
Fanny is a famous makeup artist in the 90's for most celebrities and has established a good number of followers. So getting into producing his own cosmetics line is no surprise at all.
Now, how do you like your eyeshadow? Personally, I like them to be matte. Seldom would you see me wearing a bright or frosted colors because while I like makeup, I can't wear a lot because I can get sensitive to them. That's why I like to play with makeup by applying it to other people.
So, let's talk about another Fanny Serrano product, it's the Fanny Serrano Single Eyeshadow.
I got it in two beautiful matte colors, Mocha Java and Mineral Coal.
Are you curious what happens in a private SALE? Well, me too! I've been lucky to be invited by Jamie of Venus & Mars for this exciting event!
We all love this four letter word: S-A-L-E! And incidentally, you can get the first sneak peek at The Purplehall PRIVATE SALE as they officially open on September 15, 2012!
Proudly presenting the collaboration of the most awarded retail brands of this generation, they offer you the strongest and the biggest shops out in the world wide web - bringing them much much closer to you.
Come, save the guilt. Enjoy the biggest splurge and saving tons at the same time.

Konichiwa!
Wow, and I must say that like a real Japanese girl because well first of all---- I am trying, lol.
Now the real reason really is because I recently purchased two Japanese makeup brands: Clear Last Base Makeup Primer & Chifure Liquid Foundation UV SPF33 PA++.

If you are living up north (read: Quezon City area, especially near Katipunan Road) or anywhere in the metro and need some pampering and R&R pronto, let me introduce you to the very first emu-oil based organic spa, the Mod Lei Nail & Day Spa.
Mod Lei Nail & Day Spa is the newest venture of sisters Jamie and Just Tan of the famous Venus & Mars Naturals. To know more about them here's what I gathered from this site.
VENUS AND MARS NATURALS is the First True Emu Oil Skin Care Line in the Philippines. Inspired by age-old beauty rituals, we try to bridge the world through wondrous products that deliver, while empowering the world with the beneficial effects it brings to the people and environment. Together, we can make this world a better place. Organic skin care solutions that fit. V&M Naturals. Skin and Hair Nourishment from Nature.
The company managing V&M NATURALS is duly registered with the Department of Trade and Industry and is legally operating with accounts in BIR, FDA and IPO. ALL products are FDA approved and licensed with the Food and Drug Administration (the new BFAD).The company imports and supplies products in bulk (fragrances, carrier oils, extracts, soaps, skin and hair care products, spa and wellness products, aromatherapeutic oils etc) to other wholesalers. It also provides consultation services regarding: -fragrance formulation, -product development, -spa services and over-all training-related services and more.
I do love massages myself. In fact, when I am feeling gloomy and need and instant perk-me-up activity aside from munching (wohooooo!), I usually opt for massage.
So imagine my happiness when Jamie of V&M Naturals invited me up north to try the Mod Lei Nail & Day Spa services! Oh wow, how can I ever say "No" to that. They asked me to try their SIGNATURE BODY RITUAL – SKIN SLATE Treatment and SIGNATURE FOOT SPA WITH PARAFFIN – SOLE SEARCHING.

Oh the makeup! I should not miss this for the world!
Wow--- can you believe it? It's already September and Christmas is already around the corner! How time flies, noh?
Anyhow, you should know that matte lipsticks are the bomb for me! I am not a fan of lip glosses (I remember using them when I was younger though) so you won't see any lip gloss in my makeup kit but for makeup gigs, I keep one or two.
Now rumor has it that lip paints are the new BOMB! So the quest has led me to find the Sleek Makeup Pout Paint.
So do you remember my Virginia Olsen Mineral Eyeshadow entry here? Well, the good news is that I am now ready for a detailed review. Now to answer why it took me so long that’s because I was hoping to use them at least 2 full weeks to see how it would perform than my other eye shadows.
The people behind Virginia Olsen Minerals sent me these samples plus a shade of foundation which I can use to set my foundie (how sweet of them, indeed!). If you remembered my post, I spoke about liking Mineral Makeup or MMU’s in the past but then for some reason saw myself going back to using drugstore brands again.
To be honest, I don’t know why I did the shift but anyhow the good news is that I think I am rekindling my love affair with minerals in no time.
Okay- on to the review!
Happy Thursday everyone! Sorry, I am extremely busy these days and I mean both work and personal life thus the lack of reviews. But I just want to say that I read all your comments and super grateful for all of them. I always feel special whenever I hear good things about my blog.
While others write to impress or to enjoy all those bloggers' perks, all I ever wanted was to rekindle my love for writing. And since I love makeup, I thought it was best to talk about the things that I enjoy doing.
Anyhow, now, I woke up to some good news last few days. Venus and Mars Botanicals was very nice to include me in their Facebook page as a way of thanking me for my honest review which I wrote here.
Well actually, this is already the second time that they featured my blog so I just want to let them know how grateful I am for featuring me. They said that I was the very first blogger who was featured in their page, weeeee!
To Venus & Mars---- super thank you! This means a lot to me. More power to you and may you always come up with good products!
Love,
Miss J
Ciao Bellas! It’s the weekend and as the famous song goes-- “We should all be IN LOVE!”. Hihihi. Okay that’s just me saying without thinking too much.
Well, I finally had the chance to road test my Venus & Mars (V&M) babies I bought from Zalora which I blogged here. One of these babies is the V&M Mineral Blush in Romantic Flush!
I must say that you don’t really need a lot to put some color into your cheeks. This mineral blush is pigmented with just the right color. If you are rekindling your love affair with mineral makeup(s) or MMU's, then this post is for you.
Few years ago, I got curious in trying out mineral makeup. I've had my share and times back then but after a while, I went back into trying drugstore makeup brands again. Blame it to my innate detective skills, lol. I guess I can say, I am always on the lookout on effective products all ladies must try out there.
The good news is, another mineral makeup brand has arrived in sunny Philippines which makes me want to rekindle my love affair with mineral makeup! Introducing, Virginia Olsen Minerals!
Gorgeous packaging and some free foundation too!
Pretty and neat eyeshadows for you!
Hola Bellas! How is the weather treating all of you? In usually sunny Manila, unfortunately this morning it started raining again. There is a storm coming so hopefully everyone's going to be safe. Enough of this bad weather, eh?
Anyhow, since I started loving makeup, one of the last things I probably concentrated on was how to apply eyeliner. Such a shame because eyeliners are great to define your eyes and you should know how different your makeup can be when you know how to apply it.
I love cream liners too. They are very easy to apply and easy to correct. So my quest lead me in finding the Wet 'n' Wild Mega Eyes Creme Eyeliner Black 886.
I've been hit by the power of a purple lipstick! It's been my obsession for two straight weeks now. It all started after watching some TV show and saw how flattering purple lips can be.
Purple is one of my fave colors. You can ask my mom (in heaven), she knows it's my fave color. At some point, I had been buying things all in purple when I was younger.
First of all, wearing a purple lippie can be tricky. Purple, wine colored lips can flatter almost anyone with care! Either you need to have the kind of purple (or violet) which would complement your skintone or you can be bold and wear all shades of violet for a braver you.

And of course..... daaaaraaaaannnnn! Miss J wears some purple!
Wet N Wild Lipstick in Raisin + Revlon Stormy Pink
Ah--- it's the purple domination! Somebody stop me! Ladies, would you rock some purple lips?
My take? Yes, of course you can!
Love,
Miss J
Few years ago, I learned about Venus & Mars Naturals which I read from my fave beauty bloggers. They are very famous for their EMU oil back then and even now. I was so lucky to meet their owners last year in one bazaar I visited.
V&M Botanicals, now more popularly known as V&M Naturals is inspired by age-old beauty rituals, and are trying to bridge the world through organic skin care products that deliver to help men and women bring out that natural, great looking skin everyday.
Oh well-- the good news is that they are now being sold in Zalora! Yey for that!
So I immediately grabbed my card and the rest as they say is history, hihihi. Curious to know what I bought? Click these links!
I am excited to get these babies! What about you? Did you make any Zalora shopping lately? If you haven't, listen to this:
For every Php 500 worth of online orders made in Zalora's website, you can get 5% discount by simply adding my voucher code during your checkout:MISSJ1231
Happy shopping!
Love,
Miss J
By now you all know I love red lipsticks to death! I’m sure that I am going to wear red lips in my wedding (oh well, if that’s going to happen, lol) and probably in my funeral (I’d make sure to put that in my last will and testament, oh how morbid!).
I really like looking like I’ve lived in the past. I’d pay anything just to look like a more vintage version of me hihihi! I love looking at photos of women who lived back then. One friend even commented at one time that my love for vintage things had already translated to my fascination to date only older men, yay!. But of course, like everyone else, I do keep an age requirement lol! To find out the age limit of men I’d like to date, go ask me, hihihi! Alright then, so much of my love life (naks)!
Now on to the business, so far, this MAC Matte Lipstick in Ruby Woo is my top favourite red lippie.
MAC’s tag line: “ Colour plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street! What made M·A·C famous.”
MAC’s tag line: “ Colour plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street! What made M·A·C famous.”
And no, MAC need not convince me because I really agree. It’s the best retro lipstick for that glamorous look!
Hola everyone! Hope everyone is safe especially since the weather is acting really strange! And why is that all typhoons here in sunny Manila has to come on a weekend? This is the second time in a row that the weather was a blah! Boo:(
Well anyhow, I promised to review more lip products these days as requested by my friend Sarah last month. I have a number of lippies and today I am going to talk about a brand which I really really like--- VMV Hypoallergenics! This brand is known internationally for their excellent products and I feel very proud that this company is from the Philippines ! Yey!
Because absolutely adore matte lipsticks, I had to get the VMV Matte Lipstick in Hot Librarian. It’s a super pretty darker pink shade which can pass as your MLBB (My lips but better) shade.
Perfecting my blush is the second big thing I learned next to applying my lipstick. A blush can give you that kind of glow which signals health and beauty in general.
Then came bronzers and illuminators, and wow-- this beauty addiction seem to be never ending, eh?
So today, let me share to you my current fave blush/ bronzer in my makeup kit. Introducing-- Styli- Style Luna Bronze/ Blush in Bronzed Pink! It’s a pretty blush which resembles like a “baked” blush.
Styli Style is a makeup brand I happen to meet in one of my Beauty Bar visits. I noticed their eyeliners before as well as eyebrow products but never bothered to buy one. So last month, I was surprised to see that there is this good looking gold case just lying there for me and the attendant said it was on SALE ! Wow, for shopaholics this four-letter-word is your ticket to heaven! I purchased this baby for Php 537+ ($11) from its original price of Php 1500+ ($30).
So upon direct examination, it looks so pretty and inside are a blush/ bronzer and a highlighter. So next thing I knew, I was heading to the counter (arrrghhhh!).
