REVISITED | Virginia Olsen Mineral Eyeshadow
August 30, 2012
So do you remember my Virginia Olsen Mineral Eyeshadow entry here? Well, the good news is that I am now ready for a detailed review. Now to answer why it took me so long that’s because I was hoping to use them at least 2 full weeks to see how it would perform than my other eye shadows.
The people behind Virginia Olsen Minerals sent me these samples plus a shade of foundation which I can use to set my foundie (how sweet of them, indeed!). If you remembered my post, I spoke about liking Mineral Makeup or MMU’s in the past but then for some reason saw myself going back to using drugstore brands again.
To be honest, I don’t know why I did the shift but anyhow the good news is that I think I am rekindling my love affair with minerals in no time.
Okay- on to the review!
Me Says:
- They are pigmented
- Oh, they have nice color selection
- Packaging looks super pretty and expensive (at least for me!)
- Minerals inside.... so this means they are kinder to your skin
- Good staying power on my oily lids
- Very affordable (they sell Php 150 or $3 for 1 gram and Php 280 or $6 for 2g)
Dislikes:
- The colors I selected were glittery for my taste as I prefer my eyeshadows to be matte
- Because they are glittery I had to apply more as I had a number of fallouts during the process
Because I have small eyes, I accentuated my eyes by putting on some Virginia Olsen Mineral Eyeshadow in Kohl Eyeliner in my lower lids for a more appropriate office makeup than the usual smokey eye makeup.
Overall Verdict:
4.00 Lipsticks
The packaging is sleek, there is sifter inside. But because I suck on these kind of packaging, somebody must teach me how to use them without messing up my table hehehe. It’s just me I know but I really need to be hard on myself because no matter how much I try not to mess up, I always do (sniff..). But hey—that’s why tissues were invented, right?
I personally like matte eyeshadows and I shall take a look what to buy next time from their wide array of color selection. Unless I want to do a “Lady Gaga” inspired look, I am keeping my matte eyeshows close to my heart as much as possible as glitter= shine to my already shiny face, lol.
I also want to say that given the situation of my oily lids, these eyeshadows stayed on me till I ended work which was like a miracle. I notice that MMU’s have pretty decent staying power on me. Well--- I am guessing the minerals are doing their magic, noh?
I think these babies are worth your buck. They are not trying to promise you anything except only the good.
Buy Again: Yes, Yes, Yes… (But I will probably try those which are not that glittery.)
Love,
Miss J
