The Philippine Fashion Week Spring- Summer 2013 Experience
October 30, 2012
I’ve always been curious how to construct a dress! And I mean the real one. My fashion sense I’d say is a work in progress and for that I am always in the lookout of beautifully styled ensemble to make me look well put and if possible, without breaking my waley (read: wallet).
I’m a fan of reality fashion inspired programs such as America ’s Next TopModel or Project Runway. I feel so envious of these girls strutting their butts wearing skyrocket heels with their pretty makeup while those from Project Runway are able to come up with such a beautiful dress in 24 hours.
Wow. Such a labor of hard work indeed.
So when I received three (3) invites on different dates for the Philippine Fashion Week, more than a week before the event, I was ecstatic. You see, the invites are for different shows which included a show for the famous designer, Cary Santiago,!
My friend Ros had told me if only I have a plus one invite, she'd love to come! And alas, few days before the show, they emailed me again and this time, I got an extra ticket for anyone I can bring in all of the shows I was invited to.
So naturally, I asked Ros to the Cary Santiago show as she happens to know him too! The fashion show was held at the SMX Center beside the Mall of Asia. Ros and I shared the dream of seeing a real fashion show much like those of Rajo’s or Inno’s----grand, fab and full of gorgeous people!
We were seated very close to the ever rich and gorgeous people, come on, that was such a delight!

Curious how it went? See these pics below:
The show was short but sweet. I got the chance to see the very famous stylist of the stars, Ms. Liz Uy and LA Ferriols whom I met at the recent Pinkbox event sitting at the first row.
We had fun looking at basic and vibrant colors all through out Cary's collection.
And of course, Ros and I are not going to end the night without our own version of the fashion week!
Weee! Thank you Philippine Fashion Week. Now we have one off our bucket list! This is one for the books indeed!
It’s so nice to be “fasyown" (read: fashion) indeed!
Love,
Miss J
