REVISITED | Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Foundation in Tawny Beige Review

August 07, 2013

Remember my post about revamping my makeup collection? I am trying to be serious about it but yes, it is hurting my wallet!
I think Laura Mercier is a cool name for a makeup up brand. It boasts of products a little pricey than the rest but girl oh girl, they got tons of products to choose from.
A cream foundation has more coverage, expected not to sit on fine lines; obviously great for normal to dry skinned ladies out there. And even mature ones (say, 40 and up!). I wanted to invest on a cream foundation to make my collection diverse.
I didn't expect cream foundation to work on my combination to oily skin but the Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Foundation in Tawny Beige is surprisingly lightweight for my liking. It didn't feel heavy at all though the trick is to apply sparingly only on the areas you need it.

Remember the rule when applying foundation: Only use it where you need it.

Me Says:
- Lightweight
- Very opaque
- Covers blemishes instantly even in my undereye area
- Can double as a concealer (only remember to set with powder for a matte finish)
- Tawny Beige matches my skin tone (this is the only shade which I found more yellow on it, the rest
are pinkish tones)
Dislikes:

- A little pricey for Php 2,250.00
- No spatula (dipping is no fun)
- I don't know it's only me, but I find the scent of this product a little "metallic" for my taste. Okay maybe I am imagining.
- May not be perfect for combination to oily skin
Overall Verdict:
4.00 Lipsticks

I shall definitely keep this baby in my collection because it is one of the very few cream foundie which works for me. Oily skinned ladies must remember to only apply a small amount if you don't want to turn into a grease ball.

Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Foundation in Tawny Beige on me.
Buy Again: Yes, but this 30g product is enough to suit me for a long, long time.
On the otherhand, my future plan is this: Buy the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer (I heard this is the bomb!)
Have you tried Laura Mercier products lately? How was it?
Love,
Miss J
