REVISITED | Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in Mightiest Maraschino Review

August 10, 2013

It's true: I love matte formulas but I also love balm stains simply because they are moisturizing, has great color payoff than regular lip balms and very buildable. They don't crack my lips like hell (at least that's what they are expected to be)and long lasting too.
Do you remember my post about Revlon's balm stain and Clinique's? Well, this time I'm going to review one more lippie, the Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in Mightiest Maraschino.

This lippie does not come cheap, at least not here in sunny Manila. The price is same if you buy a MAC lippie for your puckered lips so yes it will cost you Php 1,000.00 at Clinique stores in the metro. I got mine at SM Mall of Asia (it's that store beside MAC's).The color can be worn in 4-5 hours perhaps not as long wearing as that of a matte lippie but I am telling you, it's worth it.
What sold me to this shade was the fact that the color is a deep red shade, very pigmented, and not drying. It glides very smoothly in my lips and complements my skin tone very much. I know that I rock red lips better than pink but I don't mind experimenting every now and then. It comes in a neat tube and a metal silver cap; always better than Revlon's balm stains which are made of plastic which I broke countless times in the past. This one however is sturdy, I completely forgot how to ruin it, lol.
 Me Says:

- Very moisturizing
- Glides in my lips
- Very pigmented
- Buildable
- Does not dry my lips like other balm stains
- Excellent packaging
- Comes in various shades
Dislikes:
- Ah the price (sigh again)
- Can stay 4-5 hours then goes off
Overall Verdict:
4.5 Lipsticks
I don't mind paying the price tag of Clinique's because they are really worth your buck. But I do understand that if you are starting to build your own makeup stash, you would probably start from drugstore then to high end products. But rather than buying 2 crappy lippies for one great lippie, I would pick the latter.
Clinique Mightiest Maraschino on my lips
Buy Again: Yes, I am tempted to try other shades. I got tons of reds already!
Now I leave you this question: Lip stains or lip balms?
Love or leave?
Love,
Miss J
