REVISITED | Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Review

November 24, 2015

Since I decided to run a foundation/ base series this week, I figure it's the excellent time for me to talk about some drugstore foundations I have. So today's pick is from a drugstore brand you're all familiar with, Maybelline!

The Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse foundation is ideal for normal skin according to their website. But the following are the selling points for me:

  • Air-whipped liquid provides perfecting coverage for 100% poreless skin
  • Oil-free, fragrance-free
  • Dermatologist-tested, allergy-tested
  • Non-comedogenic – won’t clog pores, safe for sensitive skin
It does work for my oily skin in terms of coverage but to cut the long story short, staying power is so-so. My other gripe is that this is packaged in a bottle which can break so easily so please be very careful when throwing this in your kit. After 3-4 hours, I need some retouching. However, it covers my uneven skin tone pretty well.

My Nude Light shade is just perfect for me, couldn't ask for more in terms of color payoff. It has no pink undertones as I see it but yellow instead. The coverage buildable so yes, you can layer but please take extra caution on packing too much product. I didn't expect the finish to be much like "airbrushed" as the packaging states but it has a very decent coverage to say the least.

It does not have a queer smell, and the pump is just genius. I apply this product using my flat brush and it does the job pretty well. I never used my fingers when applying this so I guess I can't help you if you ask me this.

This baby usually retails for Php 499.00 at Maybelline counters but saw them pegged at Php 250.00 at Rockwell over the weekend.

Overall Verdict:
4.00 Lipsticks

Did you have any luck with Maybelline foundations? Well, the truth is, they are a either hit or miss for me. This one's not really bad. But I guess I need to put up my post on the Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse foundation soon so you'll know what I mean!
