REVISITED | Wink Laser and Wax Studio Review

January 07, 2014

Note: This post can get nasty and not for the super conservative types.  Only serious readers are advised to read on.

Okay, excuse me but today, I am going to talk about hair and Brazil which if you sum them up, you’ll get what I mean, right? Yes, oh hello there Brazilian Wax (BW)!

Getting BW was always in my bucket list. Getting rid of genital hairs has its pros and cons so I am writing this under the premise that this is my choice, so you just have to respect that.

I was a BW customer of one waxing salon since 2008, became a Platinum customer, and the rest as they say is history. The thing is they use cold wax. And the curious monkey inside me wants to know how hot wax works!

Now, if you are a fan of Liz of Project Vanity, she blogged about Wink Laser and Wax Studio. This is why I love reading Liz’ reviews. She’s honest and most of the products she recommended which I tried myself are indeed working for me.

First of all, if you walk into Wink Laser and Wax Studio, the place is clean, the friendly staff will greet you and I was lucky not to wait at all. According to my waxing expert, Joanna, the place can be busy on weekdays, obviously because office people will occasionally drop by. After writing my information in a piece of paper, I was ushered to a room.

The room is clean as I have expected. During the session, I told her that I am a 'hot-wax virgin' and perhaps she may put that into consideration. She just smiled and told me to let her know if I’m in pain while she does her thing. Well, what can I say: I love the hot wax! Not only that is less painful for me, the result is better than I expected.

In cold wax, they use honey + lemon and I noticed that not all hairs go away during the process. In most instances, a tweezer (ouch!) is needed. The hot wax  however has a much cleaner after-waxing result in  my case. For Php 680.00 this is worth my buck. After the process, they would then give you a piece of paper along with the after-care instructions. Awesome!
Sorry for the crappy photos, my fone just went dead on that day!
The only thing which was awkward was that the table where I had to lie down was covered with a glossy paper which made me uncomfortable when I had to move or change positions. Other than that, I will recommend Wink Laser and Wax Studio to everyone looking for a decent and affordable waxing salon. They got various waxing services you can choose from!

Overall Verdict:

4.5 Lipsticks

Wink Laser and Wax Studio  is located at 3rd Level, C2 Building, 7th Ave cor. 28th St, Taguig 1634 Telephone: (02) 808 7258

  1. P680 lang? Seriously? Wow! Now I'm intrigued!

I've tried hot wax last year lang (and I'm sorry I haven't blogged about it yet huhu). Just like you, I find it less painful and faster than cold wax! Super saya, pero medyo madugo sa bulsa. Mine amounted to P1,000 kasi. Thanks for the tip! ;)

    1. Hi Lorney yes Php 680- cheaper than The Strip waxing service which is Php 1,200. But yes, getting rid of unwanted hair can be pricey. Ah-- girl problems :)

    1. Hi Juvy, don't worry you'll get used to it after a while. These waxing attendants see a lot of "it" on an everyday basis, hehehe!

Summer's in few months, you might wanna try it soon!
